During a thirteen-year tenure as a Lead Visual Designer at Powell's Books, the largest independent new and used bookstore in the world, I conceived and illustrated two original poster series that became a cornerstone of the store's retail merchandise. The first series, Adventure Awaits, reimagined Oregon's natural landmarks through the lens of vintage travel poster design, with books woven into each landscape as architectural elements. The second series, City of Books, brought that same visual approach to Portland's iconic neighborhoods and public spaces. Each piece was developed from thumbnail sketches through pen and ink illustrations to final vector artwork in Illustrator. The work expanded into a full merchandise line including posters, postcards, puzzles, magnets, and gift cards.
